Okay, I suggested this forum, so I'll get this ball rolling. For people with a unique magic system that can be put to use in creative ways, might I suggest Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett (published 2018). In particular for those of you thinking of Brandon Sanderson as a comp because of his magic, but knowing you shouldn't because he's just too big, you should check out Foundryside.
Tonewise, it's definitely got the vibe of a caper. There's plenty of lightheartedness, but the heroine has gone through trauma in the past, so there's definitely some darker twists as well, a nice blend of the two. The plot moves along at a good pace, and it has a rotating point of view.
Also, if someone uses it as a comp and later gets published, please let me know because I will definitely read it.
