Just looking for very simple, non-explaining, formula. Everywhere I look on other sites, it gives reasons for this and that and I’m totally lost of what the formula is. All I got so far was…
Table of contents.
How your book is different than anyone else’s?
Sample chapter or two.
Why should I be the author?
I‘m sure I’m missing something in the beginning and ending and maybe in between. Also, this is more like a writing journal than a reading book.
Thank you! :)
Thank you! :)
The link you have looks a little thick and oversimplified. Here's a good site that generalizes what you need to do in a better way, IMO: https://www.twliterary.com/bookproposal/ Here's a more in-depth look at the process of writing a proposal: https://scribemedia.com/book-proposal-template/ Here's a good example of a proposal: https://writersedgeservice.com/sample-book-proposal-from-a-professional-literary-agency/ Searching "nonfiction book proposal template/example/how to" etc. can help you find even more resources :)
Soooo what’s the formula for that?
I did find a sight that had a bit more.
https://katemckean.substack.com/p/query-letters-for-non-fiction If this formula looks good, I’ll go with that one. Also thank you for reply :)
My understanding is that you write a proposal for nonfiction books, not a query, and that the point of the proposal is to convince the publisher that there's a market for the book (in fact, often you send out the proposal before the book is written) and that you have the expertise to be the one writing it.
