Update. I have several comp titles now but not sure how to como them. A few include Priory of an Orange Tree, which I think relies too heavily on world building and has oversimplified themes, so not sure what a great comp. But the most obvious. Gnome emperor.
Cyrus prince of Persia was 2011 but they want past 5 years? But people still comp martin and Rowling when relevant despite being more than five years....
Hi! I am transitioning from finishing first draft to editing. Hope to query by end of summer.
Speculative fiction in an Age of Empires where women have equal access to power. Women leadership minus the gender debate.
Alternate history drawing from references to Persian.
Am finding male readers understand my voice better than women, however. Would like to discuss who my target audience is. Best comp an editor gave me was Boudica. Genre bending and pushing a lot of boundaries. Tasteful, potential to be very powerful are reader descriptions.
Can you give a quick synopsis of the plot? That would be essential for comps I think.
