When I worked on Xena: Warrior Princess and an outside writer delivered a script, RJ Stewart, the head writer, would say, "On page 10, line 3, read me that sentence. The most important sentence is always there." Of course, he was kidding, and the page and line numbers always changed, but it was a fun game.
So, what's your most important sentence? Page 10, line 3. When the thread slows down, anyone can chime in with new page and line numbers.
Here's mine from an untitled WIP.
The next day, Chase walked Alex to school, where he saw his father standing out front with the other parents.
From Destiny:
I put my lamp out and fluff my pillow. I have errands to run later so I hope I get some good sleep.
From my science fantasy, OUROBOROS:
"Lara tried to get a better sense of the nil, but it was difficult to pinpoint, the source indistinct, like the drip echoing in the cave."
Here's mine from GREEN DEATH.
"Her eyes prickled but she gritted her teeth and swallowed the rising lump in her throat." [P10 L3]
Mine will be from A STAR REBORN, Book 2 of my Seven Stars Saga (sequel to EREBUS DAWNING, 2020 Aethon Books) since that's what I'm currently in the middle of writing (while gearing up to do final edits on Erebus... Yikees!): "Nothing indicated that this ship was alive or that there were people on it." [P10 L3]
